1. Microcontroller is a small computer (SoC) on single integrated circuit.
2. It contains :

• processor core
• programmable memory
• programmable input/output peripheral

     3.  Microcontrollers are designed for embedded applications,
     4. in contrast to the microprocessors  used in personal computers or other general purpose applications consisting of various discrete chips.
     5. Microcontrollers are programmed for specific purpose by assembly programming first but later higher level languages are also used for programming microcontroller.
